Aeshna grandis etc....

Male Azure Damselfly.

Male Azure Damselfly.

Female Brown Hawker.
A visit today to MSQ in some good conditions at last, saw me seeing as the header suggests,my first Brown Hawker's of the year and also my earliest personal records, with 5 insects being seen, with all but 1 being mature insects and a female allowed me a close approach, with some superb photographic oppertunities.Other first records for the year included a couple of Southern Hawker, with one along the approach track to the reserve and the other a confiding male in the plantation and a single Female Broad-bodied Chaser, briefly seen before it shot into the tree canopy!.Also seen around the reserve, were 2 male Hairy Dragonfly,5 Four-spot Chaser and 3 Black-tailed Skimmer.A good day at last!.
