Another visit to this dragonfly hotspot to again survey numbers of the resident species, resulted in,as on the last visit another significant increase in numbers of species. The counts were as follows:Damselflies,1020 Azure Damselfly,495 Common-blue Damselfly,312 Blue-tailed Damselfly,10 Red-eyed Damselfly and 3 Large-red Damselfly with Dragonflies being represented by 35 Hairy Dragonfly and 15 Four-spot Chaser. The Azure count has again broken all expectations  and Hairy's are still being recorded all around the reserve, with at least 3 pairs being observed mating. It will be interesting to see how well they have bred in 2 or 3 years time, when this years nymphs emerge.
