MSQ Re-visited......

Male Four-spot Chaser.

Male Hairy Dragonfly.

Teneral male Red-eyed Damselfly.
A few hours at my favourite spring and summer haunt today resulted in me recording the largest count of Hairy Dragonfly i have personally encountered, with 50 insects being counted, not only is this an impressive feat, but at this early date it is pretty exceptional.Another species which broke my personal records today was Red-eyed Damselfly, not only were these my first records for the year, but an impressive 47 were counted, which included 20 along one hedgerow.Other counts today included 14 Four-spot Chaser,239 Azure Damselfly,238 Common-blue Damselfly,11 Large-red Damselfly and 35 Blue-tailed Damselfly.A very productive day, hopefully the rest of the season will continue with good numbers of species.
