Blustery MSQ.

Female Blue-tailed Damselfly of the form 'Infuscens'.

Female Azure Damselfly of the 'Green form'.

Male Red-eyed Damselfly.

Male Four-spot Chaser.
Another visit here today in not ideal conditions resulted in some impressive Damsel counts, but not many Dragons seen on the wing,no doubt sheltering from the strong North Westerly wind. The most abundant species with an amazing count of 706 individuals was Azure Damselfly and in some areas on the reserve they were in clouds, amazing!.This is the largest count i have personally had of this lovely species.Other species counts which have improved since my last visit were Blue-tailed Damselfly with 396 and Common-blue Damsel with 347.Dragon's were well down with only 10 Four-spot Chaser and 4 Hairy seen.A good visit, despite the weather with some superb counts.
